JORDAN RIVER COMMISSION

Porter’s Landing Boat Takeout

The Jordan River Commission is happy to help announce the City of North Salt Lake is currently constructing the first formal boat takeout location along the Jordan River at 50 South Jordan River Drive. The facility, named Porter’s Landing Boat Takeout, is at the “end of the line” on the Jordan River (just prior to entering the Legacy Nature Preserve) and is going to be open to the public in late May! Porter’s Landing will be equipped with 11 parking stalls, a pavilion with a picnic table and on-site restroom facilities. Please see an artist’s rendering of the takeout above. There will be a public ribbon-cutting on June 3rd, 2017 at 9:30AM to celebrate the beautiful takeout, and the great accomplishment of the City of North Salt Lake!

The City, as well as the Jordan River Commission, asks that any river-enthusiasts utilizing the Jordan River prior to May 20th please avoid the area in blue on the map below, as it will be an active construction zone. The yellow outline shows North Salt Lake City-owned property that you can use as a take out until May 20th.

We look forward to seeing you on June 3rd at the ribbon-cutting and hope this great new facility gives you even more of a reason to come enjoy the river!
