JORDAN RIVER COMMISSION

Welcome Ex-Officio Members!

The “Chevron Mile”

The Jordan River Commission would like to give a warm welcome to it’s newest Ex-Officio members.

Alene Bentley of Rocky Mountain Power was appointed to the board because of the company’s numerous easements and property holdings along the river, and the need to coordinate with one another on future trail and restoration projects.

Michael Horrocks of the Wasatch Rowing Foundation brings to the board a unique recreational perspective.  This new organization is pursuing 501(c)3 status and is focused on expanding opportunities for all kinds of boating and recreation along the river.

Greg Hardy of Chevron was appointed as well.  The “Chevron Mile” in Davis County connects the Legacy Parkway Trail to the Jordan River Parkway Trail and Chevron continues to work on projects along the river.  The company looks forward to continuing to partner in enhancing this resource for the enjoyment of the region.

These three appointments join previously appointed ex-officio members:

Mark Bedel of the Jordan River Foundation, another 501(c)3 organization focused on completion of the Jordan River Parkway and preservation of the corridor.

Jennifer Wilson, the Commission’s community at large representative and a former Salt Lake County Councilwoman.

Ex-Officio members of the Governing Board are intended to be non-governmental partners and to represent a broad range of members of our community interested in enhancing the Jordan River Corridor.  The Commission expects to be adding additional Ex-Officio members to the Governing board in the near future; and as additional governmental partners join the Commission, more spaces will be created.
