JORDAN RIVER COMMISSION

Start a Sea of Change

In partnership with the Water Environment Association of Utah, adjacent landowners, and the Legacy Nature Preserve, we invite you to join us on a beautiful section of the Jordan River to participate in the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) – the world’s largest trash clean up day.

What:  Volunteers needed to pick up trash and debris, remove noxious weeds, spread native plant seed, and transplant wetland vegetation along the final 13,000 feet of the Jordan River.

When:   Saturday September 17 from 9 AM – 1 PM

Where:  The Legacy Nature Preserve, 1145 Center Street in North Salt Lake, Utah.

All ages are welcome, but please leave your dogs at home to reduce potential impacts to migratory birds.

Be sure to wear weather appropriate clothing including long-sleeve shirt and pants. Sturdy shoes, rubber boots or waders may be the most appropriate footwear. Bring work gloves and hat, water and a snack.  Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are recommended and will be provided on site.  Lunch will be provided for those who sign up in advance.
