JORDAN RIVER COMMISSION

Grants Awarded

Completion of the Jordan River Parkway Trail is closer than ever before thanks to grants awarded to Salt Lake County and West Jordan from the Department of State Parks and Recreation.  Congratulations to Salt Lake County and West Jordan!

These grants provide nearly all the funding needed to complete the entire gap in the parkway trail from 8300 South to 9000 South.  Combined with other local and state funding, and donations from the community, it is anticipated that this gap in the trail will be filled by late summer 2013.  When complete, this will allow trail users to enjoy the longest, continuous section of the Jordan River Parkway Trail yet – 25 miles from Bluffdale to Salt Lake City.

The proposed Salt Lake County Regional Parks and Trails Bond, if approved by voters this November, would provided the funding necessary to complete the remaining gaps in the trail as well as the connecting Parley’s Trail system.  Learn More Here.
