JORDAN RIVER COMMISSION

Lace up your running shoes and tune up your bicycle!

Yesterday, Salt Lake County residents voted to approve the issuance of a $47 million general obligation bond that would provide the funding necessary to complete both the Jordan River Parkway and the Parley’s Trails, as well as provide regional park spaces for the south and western parts of the County.

Of the total amount, $11.5 million will go to filling the four remaining gaps in the Parkway Trail, providing a non-motorized pathway from Utah Lake all the way to the Great Salt Lake.

Studies and design are already underway for the trail gaps. It is anticipated that by the end of next summer trail users will see completion of the 9000 south trail gap. Completion of the remaining trail segments should follow soon thereafter.
